Body of Wonder retreats are immersive experiences in somatic ecological practice, created and guided by Prue Jeffries. They bring together embodied awareness, movement, water, nature, creativity, contemplative practice, and relationship with place.
Retreats and immersions are offered or developed in locations that support deep relationship with land, water, culture, and the living world. These may include Greece, New Zealand, Malta, Australia, Southern California, Sydney, the Shoalhaven / South Coast of NSW, and selected coastal, island, river, mountain, and sacred-site environments such as Epidaurus and the Peloponnese.
Prue’s approach to retreats is holistic, integrating inner and outer experience. Each retreat is shaped by the qualities of the location — its land, water, weather, culture, rhythms, sacred sites, wildlife, and local community. These places are chosen because they offer living conditions for reflection, renewal, creativity, resilience, and a deeper sense of participation in the natural world.
Retreat days may include somatic practice, meditation, movement, gentle inquiry, reflective writing, swimming, walking, paddling, sea kayaking, time in nature, visits to sacred or culturally significant sites, and engagement with local people, guides, and small businesses. The structure is spacious rather than rigid, allowing participants to enter a deeper relationship with body, place, rhythm, and the living world.
Through these retreats, Prue invites participants to reconnect with the body as nature — fluid, sensing, responsive, creative, and alive. The intention is not simply to get away, but to return to a more intimate experience of life: to restore vitality, deepen awareness, enliven perception, and rediscover the sense of wonder coursing through existence.
